"I know we are energy. Life is energy - even the solid piece of metal or the heaviest rock and largest diamond are all energy, particles being held together. For me everything known and unknown is connected. So what does that mean? I don't know. The thing I do know is that as my energy vibrates I make a ripple in that connectivity and so it makes sense for me to want to make that ripple the best it can ever be."

During her Bachelor of Theatrical Arts studies at Tampere University in 1991 Sanna began her work as a professional actress. For over a decade she primarily worked in Finnish television, with roles in comedy and drama productions (ranging from main characters to guest appearances and commercials on TV). In 2002 Sanna began exploring other areas of her creativity with less focus on acting. She now holds a Master's Degree in Theatre and Drama at the University of Tampere, Finland (partially completed via the Theatre Academy in Helsinki). Please feel free to contact her for a CV.

Live art - POHDINTOJA video trilogy

Recently Sanna discovered the amazing world of live art with its voluminous mind spaces. Her 1st live art video entitled  'Pohdintoja I' (Reflections I) was created and shot on her Samsung mobile phone in 2014. In Pohdintoja I she explores themes such as solipsism, the flower of life and manifestation.

The second video in her trilogy was released 22.10.2014. Entitled Pohdintoja II (Reflections II) she has stayed true to her simplistic style by using her mobile phone as her only source of video footage. Pohdintoja II takes on new subject matter focusing predominantly on dark matter and the world of contrast.

In her final video Pohdintoja III she has taken on a more abstract approach by playing with the sounds of words and simplistic imagery. The video utilises an ASMR soundscape and soothing visual material. She has found her final piece to have a sedative effect causing almost immediate drowsiness. Please do not listen to Pohdintoja III whilst driving a vehicle or operating any heavy machinery - this piece is sure to relax the mind and body.

Please remember to use headphones when watching the Pohdintoja series, for the right effect.

My Own Bodies - all stars Helsinki (m.o.b - a.s.h.)

Picture
My Own Bodies - All Stars Helsinki (M.O.B - A.S.H.) was the result of an improvisational workshop based on the solo performance of My Own Bodies utilizing a 'shake method' developed by Swedish dancer/choreographer Tove Sahlin. The one off 55 min piece was received well by a sold out crowd, joining in on the festive celebrations on stage at the end of the performance.

M.O.B - A.S.H. explored the various effects of a range of primal bodily shaking as a form of physical expression infused in a choreographed loose narrative inspired by the cast and directed by Tove Sahlin.
M.O.B - A.S.H. was made up of 13 performers and 3 technical assistants at TeaK in Helsinki, Finland.

Picture
Kuin sadussa (Like a Fairy-tale) is a photographic exhibition by photographer Petra Kumpulainen depicting the modern person in a fairy-tale setting.

This delightful project offers a wonderful counterbalance to a hectic and often stressful day-to-day life many of us lead. The Kuin sadussa project takes each participant away for a moment to experience joy, light heartedness and the magic of story telling in their own unique way.
SANNA will be featured in 2 photographs in the collection.

20 photographs will be on display at Rytmi in Helsinki during 2.2-21.3.2014.
